Description of Test
Determination of microbiological state.

Products that can be tested
Feather and down

Scope

  • The dip slide method uses two types of agar to test the presence of commensal bacteria and coliforms (gram negative).
  • This method cannot be used to test the presence of sulphite-reducing clostrides (gram positive) and salmonella (gram negative).
  • The selective medium and plate count method uses different types of medium to verify the presence and quantity of mesophillic aerobic bacteria, faecal streptococci, sulfite-reducing clostridium, and salmonella

Value of the test

  • The methods provide both a simple screening process for finish filling material hygiene and more complete and specific information on the control of the microbiological state of the raw and finished filling materials.

Third Party Validation
