History of the Name
When creating the brand for airmid healthgroup ltd much thought went into how the company and group should be portrayed. It was agreed that the name selected for the group should reflect our mission of preventing ill health and assisting people with improving their general wellbeing. Another important factor in the decision process was the Irish roots of the company, and so the name airmid, taken from Celtic Mythology, was chosen.
Airmid, also known as Airmed or Airmeith, was the Celtic Goddess of the Healing Arts and made her name as a healer and herbalist. She was the daughter of Dian Cécht , the primary physician and healer of the Tuatha Dé Danann. With him and her brothers, Airmid presided over the Sláine Well of Healing. When specific incantations were changed over this well, slain warriors could be dipped inside and become completely whole and healthy, ready to fight again.
History of the Logo
The airmid healthgroup ltd logo was originally loosely based on the Celtic knot (pictured below). There are various types of Celtic knots but the one used for inspiratoin in this instance was the 'Trinity', or Triqueta (pictured below), which also links back to our collaborations with Trinity College Dublin and our research work with the Trinity Biomedical Institute.
The three elements also are representative of the three business units that come together to make up airmid healthgroup ltd: Airmid Scientific Consulting, Airmid Health Laboratory and health friendly airTM.
Some feel the logo is also similar to a windmill, which again echoes that the key area we work in is the air and the quality of the indoor environment. By using this striking and lively symbol we also aim to depict that we are a dynamic and high energy organisation.
The logo also refelcts balance and cycle and is inspired by the curves and circles of the Yin-Yang symbol which imply a kaleidoscope-like movement. This implied movement represents the ways in which the various aspects of the three business areas of airmid healthgroup ltd are mutually-arising and interdependent.
